I end up asking myself a lot lately, when I think I'm fighting for someone, whether I'm really fighting for them or if I'm really just doing it for myself.

Usually what I come up with is, if I don't really know the person I say I'm fighting for, the way that I ought to, then I'm lying to myself if I say I'm doing it for them. It feels different fighting for an idea than it does to fight for someone you care about, and both of those are different than fighting for the sake of needing to fight.

I've used heavy tools for fighting since I was big enough to swing them. That's why I went for a weapon.

Hamon is for other things.

Hamon is for battle. A fight is for fighting.

I can't use Hamon, but I know what you're talking about.

There was something I wasn't using that night, for the same reason.

People here have magic. Maybe they would call Hamon magic, too, but I wouldn't. It's just a skill you can learn.

There are people here who have something that isn't a skill, though, it's just a part of them. Magic or other things. Kakyoin has that, and a boy I met named Josuke has that too. I think they're different but I haven't seen Kakyoin's yet. He was having trouble with training, but I think I can help if he can't figure it out himself.
